Esther shares with us about the value of pursuing our treasure in heaven which ultimately leads to the fulfilment of our deeper desires in a way earthly treasures on their own can't.

How Jesus made disciples is simple and reproducible. Its about discerning people of peace (people who like you, listen to you and serve you), doing life with them and giving them an opportunity to respond to God.

One way of engaging a person of peace that has seen many come to faith in Jesus is approach them with this question...'I'm looking for someone to read the Bible, I don't know if you'd be interested?'

I have found this approach so fruitful in my life and encourage you to listen to the sermon and have fresh look at what it means to share our faith.

 

Yesterdays sermon took a fresh look at way Jesus modelled and taught the disciples to share their faith in him.We're going to talk about this more this year so I'd love all those who weren't present to have a listen if possible. 

We boiled it down to 3 simple steps ANYONE can do. 

1. Love and Serve Everybody

2. Identify and Invest in People of Peace

3. Provide an opportunity to respond to God

 

This approach is based on 3 premises.

1. God is already at work in the hearts and minds of people

2. The way Jesus made disciples is simple and reproducible

3. The Mission of God was always meant to be in the hands of ordinary people.

Welcome to Episode 4# of our time in the Philippines! In this episode we recount the period leading up to Christmas in all it's glory and grit. We share about the precious moments spent with family on holidays in Thailand with the wilko's and on a remote island with the Bills/Obriens. The wrap up; a crazy christmas, a beautiful break and some truths becoming tangible. Enjoy!

The metaphor describing the world's religions as different people trying to scale the same mountain does not resonate with the message of Christmas. God came down the mountain to be with us. Furthermore, he walked in our shoes, showed us how to live, died in our place, and rose again with an invite to follow him as Lord and King. What is our response to to his invitation?

This sermon tries to describe the heart that sees Jesus clearly. As we dive into this beautiful passage from Matthew. I suggest that it is the heart that has these four attributes that sees Jesus for who he is.

- Acknowledges Need

- Teachable

- Leadable

- Humble

These traits help us see Jesus for the first time, but also keep our faith vibrant as we follow him daily.

 A purely "do's and don'ts" approach to complex issues like lust and divorce puts us at risk at missing the call on all of us to love God's heart for relationships and sexuality from whereever we are at. This sermon calls us to have a deep trust in God's ways with absolute assurance that he will always lead us to a place that is good. We are called to this trust in all areas of life; including the areas of relationships and sexuality.

Tad presents to us an exhortation to run the race before us intentionally throwing off all that hinders us from following Jesus and maintaining a strong faith in him in spite of the ups and downs of the journey
