This interview was recorded live from Sunday's service (2/12/2018) where we honoured Daryl and Pauline as they step out of eldership. In the space of the sermon slot we interviewed Daryl and Pauline about their 27 years in leadership at St Clair Baptist Church; a tenure that stretches right back to the start of the church.

This interview captures the essence of their values and heart as they reflect on the story of our church and their involvement in it from a leadership perspective.

Daryl reminds us of our call as Christians to love those that are difficult to love. He does this by focusing our attention on the one who did it best; Jesus!

Sermon 5 in our love revolution series. This sermon hones in on the theme of the second part the series; our call to live the love of God outwards. 

After coming to Australia to train at Tabor College in South Australia, Paul went back to his native Uganda and started a school in a rural area that was designed to empower the local community and partner with the local church in that area.

Paul shares some wonderful stories of encouragement but also shares stories of frustration where he has been left in financial difficulty by the corrupt and dishonourable actions of others. In reflecting on this he was able to share wonderful advice on how westerners should approach giving money to overseas projects. Prayer, discernment and relationship are key!

Paul shares his passion for slow, consistent and committed ministry that seeks to love and help people in ways that empower them in the longterm. He also shares his hope to continue to move towards a sustainable ministry where there is less dependence on the giving of others to fund the ministry.

Mel's talk helps us process how to focus on God's truth and loving him in daily decisions. In our decisions we need to love God with heart, mind, soul and strength.
